The BSE Sensex rose 456 points, or 0.5%, to 84,668 in morning trade on Monday, rebounding after Friday’s pause in a six-session winning streak, as easing US–China trade tensions and signs of a potential trade deal lifted sentiment. Strong quarterly results and optimism ahead of more earnings announcements also supported gains, with companies including Adani Energy Solutions, Indian Oil, and Bata set to report results. Traders also awaited the US Fed’s policy meeting amid hopes of an interest rate cut following a softer-than-expected inflation report. All sectors traded in the green, led by realty stocks, which surged 1.4%, followed by oil & gas (1.3%) and metals (1.0%). Conforge jumped 4.7% after reporting an 86% year-on-year surge in Q2 net profit, while SBI Life gained 3.1% after posting results in line with expectations, with new business up 27.5%. Other early gainers included Bharti Airtel (1.0%), ICICI Bank (0.9%), and Sun Pharmaceutical (0.6%).
