Consumer prices in Finland rose 0.2% year-on-year in December 2025, rebounding from a 0.1% drop in the previous month. Prices increased faster for food and non-alcoholic beverages (2.0% vs 1.7% in November), communication (4.2% vs 3.6%), recreation and culture (1.9% vs 1.1%), and restaurants and hotels (2.2% vs 2.0%), while they remained steady for alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics (2.3%), health (5.6%), and education (2.8%). At the same time, deflation moderated in clothing and footwear (-0.4% vs -0.8%), housing and utilities (-2.0% vs -2.4%), and miscellaneous goods and services (-2.0% vs -2.4%). In contrast, transportation costs continued to decline (-0.5% vs -0.3%), while prices for furnishings, household equipment, and routine household maintenance remained unchanged (-0.1%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices grew by 0.2% in December, rebounding from a 0.2% fall over the previous two months.
