Dutch Manufacturing Output Declines in November

Manufacturing production in the Netherlands fell by 0.5% month-over-month in November 2025, reversing an upwardly revised 0.4% decline in October. This marked the sharpest contraction since July, as output dropped the most in textile (-3.7% vs 2.1% in October), leather and shoes (-3.6% vs 3.0%), paper (-5.0% vs 6.9%), petroleum (-0.3% vs 26.0%), pharmaceuticals (-5.1% vs 4.0%), basic metals (-7.7% vs 1.6%), and electrical equipment (-9.0% vs 12.9%). Declines were also recorded in rubber and plastic (-1.3% vs 1.2%), building materials (-0.6% vs 0.3%), graphics (-1.2% vs 3.5%), metal products (-2.1% vs 2.0%), and other transportation equipment (-2.4% vs 2.1%). In contrast, production rebounded in food (0.2% vs -0.6%), chemicals (1.8% vs -1.2%), electricals (5.2% vs -11.1%), automotive and trailers (9.9% vs -4.3%), and furniture (1.4% vs -2.2%). On a yearly basis, manufacturing output rose 0.7%, easing from 2.1% in the previous month.
